Alaffia Papaya and Neem Face Wash

We were first introduced to the Alaffia brand when someone gifted Nicki some Alaffia shampoo. After looking into the brand, it was clear that they were a company that wanted to do good (read more about that here), but the products were equally as good as well. It didn’t take long for more Alaffia products to enter our daily routine, so when I needed a new face wash and saw this Papaya and Neem Facial Cleanser by Alaffia on Thrive Marketplace, it was an easy switch for me.

I have always had poor skin.  I’ve struggled with severe acne and oily skin since before puberty. Even after a round of Accutane in high school cleared up a lot of my acne, I still had pretty poor skin and carry that with me today as a male in his mid-thirties… Yeah.

Of course, now I know that diet plays a huge part in that struggle and that many of the products I was using (especially those prescribed to me) were actually making it worse, but that’s another post for another time.

Now that I know better I try to stay away from sugars and other inflammatory foods and maintain a healthy skin routine in the morning and night. This face wash is easily one of the best that I’ve ever used and is a key part of my nightly skin routine.

Benefits

The coconut oil base is not only great for maintaining proper hydration and moisture level in my skin, but the antioxidants and nutrients in the coconut oil are great for warding off inflammation and bad bacteria.

Neem, also known as Indian Lilac, is used in a variety of skin creams, body lotions, etc.  Neem is great for treating skin conditions, like acne, dryness, and scar treatment due to its high antioxidant, fatty acid, and vitamin E content, as well as other nutrients.

Papaya is used in skin care products for its Vitamin A, a powerful antioxidant, and Papain enzyme, which helps exfoliate and moisturize the skin.  And it just helps me feel like a pretty, pretty bird, er…um…it smells good.

Alaffia Neem and Papaya Face Wash can be found online at the Alaffia website, Thrive Marketplace and Amazon, as well as many grocery and retail stores like Whole Foods, Fresh Thyme, and more.  Some Target stores also carry Alaffia products, so you might get lucky and find it at your local store too!
