Man, I am grateful for bread. These are my first loaves baked in St Louis!
A few years ago I watched Michael Pollan’s #Cooked on Netflix and caught the sourdough bug. My first loaf was successful enough that I haven’t stopped searching for the perfect loaf ever since.
I’ve opened the oven to some flat, dry, and not so tasty loaves – especially the first year. I’ve opened the oven to some gems like these – great oven spring, beautiful dark crust, smells like maple syrup, so much to love.
I’ve checked out books from the library, read a thousand blogs, watched a hundred videos, and spent many hours just thinking about bread. I’ve also eaten about 134 pounds of bread, maybe more.
More importantly, I wanted to learn a new skill and then did it. I failed many times but kept trying. I succeeded many times, yet kept trying something new.
