Salbakos is a Turkish luxury towel and bathrobe maker that we discovered after some late night googling after a minor panic attack I had when thinking about what chemicals are in the materials in our bathroom.

Fortunately, most Salbakos products are made with cotton grown without the use of pesticides. These bath towels are woven and colored without chemical dyes and treatments.  In fact, they are certified OEKO-TEX® 100 This is a great certification to look for when searching for products for your home.  

You can certainly buy organic cotton towels, which is what we initially set out to find, but you will pay $250 or more for 2.  These are less than $50 for a set of 4!

They are well made and some of the best towels I’ve used. I like a hefty towel with great absorbency and these fit both of those bills.  

We bought these in gray to match a few accents in our bathroom, but they come in a lot of colors. As a friendly tip, I would not recommend brown as the fibers will shed and show on any lighter surfaces (we initially got the brown when we had that color scheme in our bathroom…)!

But, I have no anxiety when I am wiping my face and body with these every day!
